To me Sales and promotion make the world go ’round!

Something I Have To Get Off My Chest…

It absolutely boggles my mind how many people are turned off by promotions, specially those who are in the online marketing niche (neesh!)

They’re irritated anytime someone is selling something and it really sets them off anytime there’s an upsell.

I guess you can’t really blame them. After all our entire society has always looked down at sales people.

We all rush to switch the channel the moment a commercial comes on.

Or when you walk into a retail store the automatic response to the person greeting you is - “I’m just looking.”

It’s part of our defense mechanism to survive through out the day without buying everything in sight.

But the problem is this attitude towards sales and other people attempts at it. is actually hurting your chances of success.

And what completely blows me away is why some people in our own industry have this same attitude.

They get all rattled up about others trying to sell them…

… yet they’re trying to make money selling something themselves.

It Just Makes No Sense

This attitude is one of the key differences between successful people and everyone else.

And it’s actually one of the Wealth Files from the book “Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind” I read some time ago and recommend to everyone.

Rich people are willing to promote themselves.

Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.

One upon a time this guy recruited his neighbor into the business I was in.

The guy was all gung-ho about getting started.

And one day the sponsor’s wife was having a conversation with the neighbor’s wife and told her she should also get on board and how it would really help out her husband’s business.

Her reply was, in a very negative tone - “I would never want to get into any of these selling things…”

Like this is some kind of a lowly thing to do and is beneath her.

The funny part is her husband owned his own business at the time, setting up home theaters in upscale houses.

I guess he didn’t need to do any selling, right?

A couple of years later after the sponsor and his wife moved to a different place, I found out the neighbor had lost the business and of course had never done anything with the MLM he had joined. And I’m wondering if sales (or lack of) had anything to do with it.

I understood very early on that sales and marketing is the driving force behind the free enterprise system.

We wouldn’t have ANY of the things we enjoy on a daily basis if someone didn’t sell something.

And I’ll tell you something else…

Is your fuel consumption costing you big time?

If the fuel consumption of your car is costing you too much these days because low gas mileage (miles per gallon or high liters per 100 kms) it’s because of the price of gas. Unfortunately it is not going to get any better.

Let’s face it gas prices rarely go down and if they do it is temporary. Sometimes I think it is just to make us feel a bit better about being gouged. You know it goes down a bit, feel better then it goes up higher, then down a bit again we feel better then up it goes again and the old high seems like a deal. Its sick really.

So we start wondering how to conserve gas to get better miles per gallon. It doesn’t matter if we drive regular gas cars or diesel cars, we all want better gas mileage.

Our fuel consumption is costing us big time and we have to do something about it.

I am not talking about protesting. That will not help us improve our fuel efficiency.

Some of use just go to Google and search for ways to get the best mpg (miles per gallon). I encourage you to do just that ‘cause you will find lots of tips on how to drive you vehicle to improve gas mileage. Most of them are kind of obvious like drive the speed limit, do not carry unnecessary stuff in your trunk or your truck. There are great braking tips and automobile maintenance tips. These are all good techniques and I encourage you to do some research about it as there are some good ideas out there.

Saving fuel or reducing our fuel consumption has become a passion for some, an obsession for others but a necessity for us all.

I would like to share with you how I get better gas mileage. I love it when I realize improved or increased gas mileage. I feel a bit like a rebel when I can beat the oil industry at their own game.

How can I get better gas mileage, besides driving smart, is simple. It costs me a bit but I save a bundle. I think that is smart – spend a buck to save two or three. What I do actually saves me a lot more than two or three dollars. I have realized at least 15% saving on every tank of gas I buy. You see I drive a lot and therefore save a bundle. Currently a tank of gas costs me about $85 and like you it is going up. I can’t do anything about that. The only thing we can do is make our gas last longer or drive us further.

The 15% savings I am realizing is being able to go further 15% on a tank of gas. I don’t have to fill up as often as I get better gas mileage.

In terms of dollars it amounts to about $13 per tank and it costs me about $3 per tank. So spend $3 to save $10! Like I said that is smart! Not bragging here – just sayin’ LOL.

So how do I get better gas mileage you?

So how do I get better gas mileage you might ask. I have been using some products from a company called Bi-Tron Global for several years and the higher the price of gas goes the more I save.

Bi-Tron has several products, one for the engine oil, one for the transmission fluid and one fuel conditioner. The engine oil and transmission fluid products reduce friction in the engine thereby reducing the amount of gas it takes to turn the engine, gears  and the axles. It brilliant and it works. That’s why I have been using it for so long.

At first I didn’t notice much improvement but once my car became, what we call Bi-Tronized, I noticed a definite improvement in my fuel efficiency. At first I didn’t see any improvement when using the fuel conditioner but after a couple of bottles it too began improving my miles per gallon (mpg).

When I first found out about the products I did something that has paid off in spades, I became a distributor as the company allows me to purchase the products wholesale for personal consumption. That is cool.

At first I was all gung-ho to share the business with others so they too could save money at the pumps but I soon stopped that. People are just way too skeptical for their own good some times. Skepticism is good but not in this case. The products work and they work well. With the rising cost of gas the benefits just keep getting better.

Harper Austerity Budget Terminates Thousands.

Will Harper Austerity Budget be the best day of your life?

I am sure it won’t seem like the best day of your life at first but many people have come to realize that getting laid off, terminated, downsized or capsized was the best thing that ever happened to them. I am sure that this will happen to many when the Harper Austerity Budget hits home.

Once they realized their new freedom and the opportunities that were now available to them, the world became their oyster.

Certainly it is uncomfortable at first, similar to a caged fox who has been set free.  The fox doesn’t know what to do, where to go or how to survive.  It either reconnects to its instincts are becomes a dinner for the next species up the food chain.

But people it’s different, we are at the top of the food chain, we can reinvent ourselves.  When set free we have to rekindle our dreams, sharpen and our ingenuity and perhaps learn some new skills.  We have to decide what we want out of life, consider the options, make a plan and most important take action and work the plan.

My son and recently started his career in the bureaucratic jungle.  After his first couple of months he realized he had lost his freedom.  He felt like the wild animal that had just been caged.  He felt it was very unnatural to have to go to his cubical every day and stay there for 8 hours. Of course this cubical was pretty comfortable, he even has a window. But to him he felt like the caged fox.  When he looks out of his window he can help remember the freedom he once had, to travel, to surf, to do whatever he wanted.  It has been almost a year now and the sad thing is – he is getting used to it.

But no matter what he is still a free spirit just like the rest of us. He has given up his freedom for the security of a regular pay check. For him it is a decent check and it seems worth it. The reality is there is nothing secure about it at all. Someone else is in control. He could be laid off any time. He already has financial commitments geared to his income. It’s kind of a false sense of security. In his case he is young and if set free would adapt and figure it out. He will be okay, I hope.

However if you or someone you know has just been working hard for a long time and just found out that their job is terminated because of Harper’s Austerity Budget or someone else’s ivory tower insight it can be a stressful time.  Like the fox that has been let out of the cage it has come to know you are probably feeling a little unsure of your future. What the hell are you going to do now?

There is probably a part of you that would love to say screw it and head to some warm beach and live in a hut.  But we all know that it is impossible for the time being anyway you have financial commitments and personal commitments and it just seems impossible.  What the hell you gonna do?

OK there are basically two options, you can find another job working for the man or you can find a way to take control of your future.  This second choice may seem a little precarious but if you do the right in the future you will look back on the day of your pink slip as the happiest day of your life!  Doesn’t that sound good?

I am reading a book called Abundance by an author named Peter Diamandis. If you are in the need of a jolt of positive in your life, and I imagine you are, I highly recommend you get a copy of this book and give it a read.  It is basically about the exponential growth of technology and how it is contributing to creating a better world for everyone.  We are clearly in the midst of the information age and like Isaac Newton says “we are standing on the shoulders of giants”.

The time has come for people to share ideas and when we connect with those ideas and apply them to our lives incredible things can happen.
